Interview Tips

How does Interview Tips work?

E-Mail

When you log in to your Pongo account, you can launch the program by clicking the Interview Tips tab at the top of the page.

Within Interview Tips, the index in the left margin shows the three major section headings: Interview Lessons, Additional Topics, and Frequently Asked Interview Questions. Under each section heading, you'll find a dropdown list of individual topic modules.

NOTE: The audio (sound) begins playing as soon as you launch a module. Please check your volume beforehand.

Getting Started

  • In the index, click "Introduction" (or your desired topic module) and the audio/visual program will start to play. You'll hear the narrator's voice and see a bulleted list of the subjects that will be covered within that module.
  • You can start, stop, pause, fast-forward, rewind, or replay a module at any point (just like a DVD or CD).
  • When you're finished with a module and want to move on, click the "Next Topic" button, or another topic in the index.

Read-Along Text

If desired, you can read along with the audio script by viewing the written text at the bottom of the screen. (This is helpful if you are hearing-impaired, or don't want to disturb others around you.)

Action Items

Most of the topics include a clickable button labeled ACTION ITEMS, which offers activity recommendations to enhance your understanding of the material.

 Success Story
I responded to a job ad with my own resume and brief cover letter. After a week I heard nothing. Then I found Pongo's site and created a much nicer resume and cover letter and re-sent it to the same employer. A day later she called me and scheduled an interview. At the interview, she told me that she was not going to call me based on my first submission because "it told her nothing about me." She said the second one impressed her and that I should buy lunch for "whoever" helped me with it. I don't know if it will result in a job but it is definitely helping with getting interviews. - Linda B.
