Create or Edit a Resume

There's extra space on my resume. How do I remove it?

E-Mail

Extra space between sections means invisible line breaks have been inserted after the text (caused by hitting the Enter key at the end of a line).

It's easy to remove them.

  1. Open your resume and click the Edit button under the section that has extra space.
  2. Place your cursor at the very bottom of the text box (you may need to drag the right-hand scroll bar down to reach the bottom).
  3. Use the Backspace or Delete button to remove the extra spaces until the cursor is right at the end of the text, with no space afterwards. Click Save.

This process gets rid of the invisible line breaks and should solve your spacing problem! (Click Preview to make sure.)

 Success Story
I responded to a job ad with my own resume and brief cover letter. After a week I heard nothing. Then I found Pongo's site and created a much nicer resume and cover letter and re-sent it to the same employer. A day later she called me and scheduled an interview. At the interview, she told me that she was not going to call me based on my first submission because "it told her nothing about me." She said the second one impressed her and that I should buy lunch for "whoever" helped me with it. I don't know if it will result in a job but it is definitely helping with getting interviews. - Linda B.
