When you e-mail your Resume and/or Cover Letter directly from our web site, you’ll get a confirmation when it’s sent, and the online Tracker will give a “failed” notice if the submission should ever get bounced back to our server.
The recipient's e-mail settings (unrelated to our application) will determine the deliverability of an e-mail.
Why might an e-mail bounce back? There could be several reasons, and not every blocked e-mail gets bounced back:
- You might have entered the e-mail address incorrectly.
- The recipient’s e-mail server may have a firewall or spam-blocking software that prevented delivery of your submission.
- The recipient’s mailbox could be full (happens frequently with some accounts).
To check the status of a sent e-mail, open your Resume (or Cover Letter) and click Track Resume (or Track Letter). If the Tracker displays a “failed” message, you’ll know you need to try again.
One caveat: the Tracker has no way to determine why it failed. If you get a failed notice, first verify the recipient’s e-mail address. If it was entered incorrectly, re-send with the correct address. If that wasn’t the case, you will probably need to contact the intended recipient’s company to find out the issue.
