Pongo Resume Partners with Southeast Texas Workforce Solutions Board to Provide Online Job Search Tools to Unemployed Texans
Southeast Texas Becomes First State Regional Board to Implement Virtual One-Stop Career Center to Fight Unemployment
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass, July 15, 2008 —Pongo Resume, the premier full-service online resume-building resource that provides a suite of online tools to help job seekers market and manage their career, today announced it has entered into a licensing agreement with the Southeast Texas Workforce Solutions Board to deliver online resume and letter building tools to be used by people seeking employment opportunities in that region of the state. The agreement is the first of its kind with any state organization to deliver this type of strategic online initiative for the unemployed. This initiative is indicative of the demands being placed upon state governments to do more for their citizens with less funding and tighter budgets.
Pongo Resume’s suite of online job search tools is a major component of the virtual one-stop career center. By offering critical services online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Texas now gives job seekers access to all the tools and help they need to get hired faster. Taking the lead as the first employment region to implement such an initiative, the Southeast region of Texas recently launched Pongo's Resume Builder and career tool suite on their web site.
“We are extremely proud that Southeast Texas evaluated us and found Pongo Resume to provide the best job search tools and value to its users,” said Rodney Capron, CEO. “We anticipate other states to follow suit as they, too, look for creative ways to leverage the power of the internet and the world class resume and letter building tools PongoResume provides.”
“Rising demand for career services coupled with deep federal budget cuts challenged us to find innovative ways to deliver more services for less,” states Mary Hammon, Deputy Director of Workforce Solutions for Southeast Texas. “The team at Pongo Resume worked closely with us to implement the Resume Builder and Letter Builder quickly and efficiently so we could launch our 'virtual one-stop' career center rapidly.”
