Answers to Our Presidents' Day Jobs Quiz

What jobs did 10 U.S. presidents hold before they were elected? That was the subject of the Presidents' Day quiz in our February 21 post. We'll be giving out up to 25 Pongo t-shirts to the highest scorers who submitted their answers before the contest closed on February 28!

Here are the correct answers:

  • Gerald Ford (38th president, 1974-1977) — Busboy
  • Franklin Roosevelt (32nd president, 1933-1945) — Assistant Secretary of the Navy
  • Ronald Reagan (40th president, 1981-1989) — Actor
  • Harry Truman (33rd president, 1945-1953) — Clothing store owner
  • Richard Nixon (37th president, 1969-1974) — Lawyer
  • Bill Clinton (42nd president, 1993-2001) — Law school professor

We’ll be contacting the winners by email to get mailing addresses to send the t-shirts.

We hope you picked up a few bits of knowledge to impress your friends and others the next time you engage in a trivia contest or a spirited discussion about past occupants of the White House.
