You have four Format choices for e-mailing: Text, HTML, Word or PDF. Each format has different advantages:
- PDF gives you 100% assurance that the employer will see your resume exactly as you formatted it.
- WORD is probably the most popular format for e-mail attachments. However, formatting glitches can occasionally appear when the recipient opens it on the other end.
- HTML is a good choice if you know the recipient can view HTML (not everyone can); it preserves formatting and lets the recipient view the resume right in their e-mail browser without downloading it.
- TEXT (also called ASCII text) is a good choice if the company does not accept e-mail attachments (some companies have this policy, for fear of viruses, etc.). This option puts your resume within the body of the-mail. It also strips out all the formatting (bold, italic, bullets, etc.).
