What is the Preferences button for?

The Preferences button allows you to change how your Experience and Education listings are sorted, and to choose whether you want to display your country name on your resume.

Sorting Preference

The standard way to sort Experience and Education listings on a resume is by date, starting with the most recent. Pongo does this for you automatically. If you prefer to sort the listings manually, you can choose that option using the Preferences button. (In manual sorting mode, each Experience and Education listing will have an "Up" and "Down" button associated with it, allowing you to move the listings into your desired order.)

Country Preference

Most people do not want the name of their country to appear on their resumes because everyone knows what country he or she is in. It’s not necessary to say "Chicago, IL, United States" or "Toronto, ON, Canada." However, if you DO want the country name to display on your resume (for example, if you’re applying for a job in a foreign country), you can change your preference to "Display Country Name: YES."

 Success Story
I responded to a job ad with my own resume and brief cover letter. After a week I heard nothing. Then I found Pongo's site and created a much nicer resume and cover letter and re-sent it to the same employer. A day later she called me and scheduled an interview. At the interview, she told me that she was not going to call me based on my first submission because "it told her nothing about me." She said the second one impressed her and that I should buy lunch for "whoever" helped me with it. I don't know if it will result in a job but it is definitely helping with getting interviews. - Linda B.
