This is a nice local charity down here in Florida. This owner's name is really Candy. She is a not profit organization that give cats to good homes.

Who We Are Candy's Cats, Inc. (CCI) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Florida corporation whose goal is to make a determined effort within our community to educate our residents about the tragedy of "throwaway" kittens and cats.

We are a loosely connected group of people from all walks of life who see a need and through whatever it is that makes us tick, we cannot walk away, but we must do what we can to help these kittens. At any given time, 6 - 30 people foster anywhere from one to fifteen kittens. Some of the kittens come to us very sick, or, orphaned and the foster moms and dads wake every 2-3 hours to feed or to check on the kittens, to medicate, to comfort them.

For some, fostering is not possible so they come help out at the adoption center on the weekends. Still, others have other abilities they bring to CCI. Getting involved with any rescue organization means giving whatever time, be it 15 minutes a week or 24 hours a day, 7 days a week of your time - these kittens are not throwaways - and our volunteers give 100% of themselves to caring for these little lives, even if they grow into teen cats, or, with the adults we take in as well.

I hope Pongo can help Candy and her cats. Happy Holidays. Sandy Jaster

ESCAPE Family Resource Center At ESCAPE, Master-level Educators teach parents the necessary skills to effectively communicate with their children, recognize each child's unique needs and discipline without punishment. In addition, children are taught through age-appropriate language, how to recognize their own needs and communicate them to their parents. It is our vision, that families in turn will be equipped with the tools to live together harmoniously so that children have the chance to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. ESCAPE teaches each family member how to listen with their hearts. Programs also include courses for divorcing parents and their children, grandparents raising a relative's child, parenting for multi-cultural families and one-on-one mentoring for parents whose children have been identified as at-risk for abuse or neglect.

The International Exotic Animal Sanctuary down in Boyd, Texas provides homes for orphaned and abused exotic cats (such as lions, tigers and leopards to name a few) and bears. These wonderful, commited people ensure that the animals are given the best care possible in captivity, allowing them to live out the remainder of their lives in total security. They also run an accredited internship program for wildlife management and organize educational programs in local schools. I've had the privilege of working there as a volunteer twice (I've travelled from Montreal to do it), and I'm proud to support their efforts.

This is a 501c organization that rescues abused, neglected pet monkeys as well as research. All of the research monkeys will be euthanized if JF doesn't take them in and as for the pet monkeys if the people can't find a suitable sanctuary they often try to sell them and the "pet" abuse via ignorance continues. We are trying to expand as we are at capacity with 120 monkeys and at least that many and more on a waiting list. It's a great facility and world known at least through Europe and Africa. I think these animals deserve a chance at being primates as much as possible away from living in diapers and being fed junk food or being stuck with needles behind an iron cage for most of their life. Please help them walk on grass and dirt, swing in a tree and eat a diet that's fit for a monkey. This charity is located in LaCrosse, Florida and the owner, founder, director is Kari Bagnall. Thanks so much!!! Pat

World Vision Canada - Turn Hope Into Reality. Sponsor A Child For $35 Per Month. It is a nonprofit organization that is organized by interest, rather than by corruption--look no further! However, in an effort to try to make this organization bigger, I vote this as one of the best and good for children who don't have their parents, But have god and others like us to care for them.

A LEG UP RESCUE is a rescue in Northern California that takes in small dogs, mostly chihuahuas. We rehabilitate and rehome these wonderful dogs. In CA the shelters are overrun with chihuahus and chi-mixes. There are 1,000s in the shelters. Our fostering efforts are wonderful but now, we are helping transport these little dogs to states where loving homes are plentiful for these little dogs. Tomorrow, we send off EIGHT to new homes in OR. They will be in homes before Christmas. This group has helped me stay focus during my time of unemployment. I have done lots to help the dogs and I am helping myself by doing good!
