Hey job seekers! The folks at the US Department of Labor (DOL) want your opinions in the Tools for America's Job Seeker Challenge! They're compiling a list of today's best online job search tools, and need you to vote for the ones that deserve recognition. The challenge ends tomorrow (Friday, January 15, 2010), so don't miss out!
Here are the nitty-gritty details from the challenge site:
"[The DOL has] compiled as many online tools as possible to help America’s job seekers quickly and easily connect with jobs. Now we need you to test-drive, comment on, and recommend the tools you like best!
We’ll publish the highest ranking tools on our websites and encourage the nationwide network of One-Stop Career Centers to make them available to the more than 20 million job seekers they serve each year."
Want to participate? Simply go to the DOL's Tools for America’s Job Seekers Challenge web site and vote for the job search tools and career sites you find most helpful. Here’s how:
- Visit www.dolchallenge.ideascale.com and click on the Login/Sign Up link at the top right.
- You can sign in using your AOL, Google, Yahoo!, or WordPress account, or create a new DOL account by selecting "I am a new User."
- Browse the listings or use the Search Ideas box to find your favorite tools by name (For example: Pongo… hint, hint!).
- Click on the "thumbs up" Recommend Tool! image to cast your vote. You can vote for as many tools as you want, but you can only cast one vote per tool.
Remember, voting ends tomorrow, January 15 at 9pm EST. This is your chance to tell the world what career sites and job search tools you value the most. There are so many great job search tools available, and we're happy to be nominated with them!
